Reimbursement Specialist

Full Time position available, reports to the Director of Reimbursement Services.  Therapath, located at 107 West 82nd Street in New York City, is a growing specialized pathology laboratory seeking to expand its collections department, and is prepared to offer the ideal candidate an exceptional compensation package, including health, dental and 401K plans. 

Job Functions:

All functions as related to both patient and insurance company medical billing and collections

Job Requirements:

1. Minimum:
• 5 years of medical collections containing experience with both participating and non-participating insurance carriers
• 2 years medical billing experience
• 1 year medical insurance verification experience
2. Must have exceptionally professional demeanor and attitude with a strong history of dependability. 
3. Clear and Professional Telephone Skills
4. Extremely organized self starter who is able to work independently in a team setting
5. Well-rounded experience with both written and verbal insurance company appeals
6. Excellent Grammatical, Verbal and Written Skills
7. Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
8. Experience speaking with physicians
9. Must be able to supply verifiable professional references

• Medisoft Billing Software  
• Laboratory/Pathology collections
